Margaret G. Gonzales

Margaret G. Gonzales, 85, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2024. She is survived by her sons, Gilbert and wife Judy, Sam and wife Mary, David and wife Eva, John (Michael), Eddie, Frank (Pancho); daughter, Rosie; 25 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; brother, David Garcia (Mary); sisters, Ernestina Provencio (Panteleon), Marylou Gomez (Ruben); as well as many nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert; parents, Lazaro and Micaela (Sanchez) Garcia; sisters, Felictia Garcia, Veronica Viscarra; brother, Lazaro (Junie) Garcia.

Margaret was a lifelong resident of the Alamogordo and Tularosa area and was a member of St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in Tularosa. She worked for the Village of Tularosa for many years as Village Clerk until her retirement, receiving NM Clerk of the Year in 1996. She enjoyed many a Cowboy/Redskins rivalry game with Gilbert as he was a Redskins fan and she a Cowboys fan. She will be dearly missed.

Services for Margaret Gonzales will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited at 10:00 am with Mass to follow. 

Burial will follow services at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
