Anita Ruth Cowart

Anita Ruth Cowart passed away on November 21, 2022. She was born on February 3, 1940, in Eisenach, Germany to Anna Katarina Zocher. She is survived by her husband, John Cowart; her son, Bryan Bachelder; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
 
Anita graduated from Jakob Grimm High School in 1957 and immigrated to the United States that year. She became a supervisor at the Tambrands division of Proctor and Gamble. She was an active volunteer at Books Revisited, the Alamogordo Library used book store, and was a member of the Alamogordo Optimist Club. In 1983, she married Richard Poliquin, and they lived in Buckfield, Maine until they moved to Tularosa, New Mexico in 2003. Richard passed in 2005. That year Anita met John Cowart and they were married in 2006.

The Cowart family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home.
